How Ars tests Wi-Fi gear (and you can, too)

The gear testing team over at Ars Technica laid out the hardware, open-source software, methods, and benchmarks their team uses to test the many, many pieces WiFi gear they review for the site.

My favorite part of this is that the level of detail required to successfully explain their methodology ends up with the bonus benefit of teaching you about how the WiFi protocol works in the first place.
