Wifi Dead zones Using Wi Spy Air

When using why spy air, I’m trying to find dead zones on all my floors in the office. What’s the best method for finding dead zones using Wi-Spy? Also how do I force Wi-Spy to show me the AP I’m connected to? I see sometimes it works and other times it doesn’t, why does that happen?

Thanks

Hi april.benitez,

What’s the best method for finding dead zones using Wi-Spy?

In my opinion, a dead zone would be any area that is receiving a a poor or non-existent signal strength from the desired network (-80 dBm or farther). Therefore, I would recommend taking Wi-Spy Air into any room or area and checking the signal strength of the desired network. If you don’t see the network, or the signal strength is at -80 or -90 dBm or farther, then you’re in a dead zone!

Also how do I force Wi-Spy to show me the AP I’m connected to?

Hmm, the chain link icon should indicate the current connected SSID and radio. This is something AirViewer can actually pull from the chipset in the device itself. If you find that the chain link is missing and you’re connected to a network, try turning Wi-Fi off and on and see if that helps!

Thank you will try this!
