This guy literally started his own ISP just to get himself (and his neighbors) fiber internet in his rural Michigan neighborhood. To be fair, maybe I would have done something similar if I were someone with enough money to not balk at the idea of writing a $10,000 check, like he alludes to in the story. But still, an impressive feat!
