Scientists harvest Wi-Fi signals to power an LED

This new method uses an array of spin-torque oscillators (STOs) joined together on a single chip to convert 2.4 GHz radio wave signals into a direct voltage signal, then use that to light up a small LED.

I don’t know much about electrical engineering, but if we can harness even a fraction of the ambient energy created by Wi-Fi all around us…man, what a game- changer from a convenience, environmental and financial perspective.
